On June 11, 2025, the 18th International Solar Energy and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition took place in Shanghai, where Cornex showcased its innovative full-scenario energy storage solutions. The company presented its forward-looking technological roadmap and development blueprint for the next generation of energy storage products, making a significant impact at the event.
Cornex's core highlight at the exhibition was the 472Ah high-capacity energy storage battery, which is set to enter mass production. As the fourth generation of Cornex's energy storage batteries, each 472Ah unit has a nominal energy of 1510.4Wh and an energy density of up to 195Wh/kg. This battery delivers significant advantages, including:
· High reliability
· High performance
· Long cycle life
· High adaptability
By using the "technology reuse + production capacity sharing" strategy, Cornex has successfully adopted the mature production line processes of the 314Ah battery, ensuring high safety, consistency, and rapid mass production.
The M6 prefabricated cabin, which incorporates the 472Ah battery, offers a standard 20-foot container capacity of 6.28MWh, expandable to 6.9MWh per cabin. This represents a 38% increase in capacity and a 20% reduction in land area compared to industry-standard products. The cabin is designed to be used in power and industrial-commercial scenarios that require over two hours of energy storage, helping to redefine the economic and efficiency standards for energy storage projects.
Cornex recognises that the core elements for large-scale energy storage applications lie in safety, reliability, and long-term value. The company has thus built a robust technological moat to ensure these aspects are well covered. At the exhibition, Cornex shared its three major innovations:
1. Immersion 2.0 Safety System: This system provides rapid early warning and millisecond-level shutdown, effectively preventing the risk of thermal runaway and allowing for fire extinguishment within just 6 seconds. It offers ultimate safety for centralised energy storage power stations and high-density applications.
2. Cathode Lithium Compensation Technology: This innovative solution compensates for active lithium loss during battery cycling, significantly delaying capacity degradation at the material level and thereby extending the battery's lifespan and providing more stable returns for investors.
3. High-Temperature Equivalent Technology: Cornex's products are optimised with material systems and thermal management designs, allowing them to maintain excellent performance and cycle life even in harsh environments. This technology greatly expands the geographical boundaries for energy storage deployments, particularly in tropical and desert regions with high sunlight but challenging climates.
These innovations collectively unlock the full potential of energy storage products for all-scenario applications.
As Cornex continues to push new technologies and products to market, its vision is already extending into the future evolution of energy storage technology. To prepare for the high-voltage solar-storage era, the company has preemptively designed a 2000V high-voltage platform, ensuring greater efficiency in DC-side coupling and reducing energy conversion losses. This switchable platform design, available in the M6 prefabricated cabin, will significantly boost the overall system efficiency and returns for solar-storage integrated projects.
Cornex is also integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its Battery Management System (BMS) and energy storage station operations. By leveraging AI, the company aims to achieve:
· Precise state evaluation
· Intelligent fault diagnosis
· Lifespan prediction
· Optimised operation and maintenance strategies
This AI-powered approach will lead to the "unmanned, intelligent, and efficient" operation of energy storage stations, driving down total lifecycle costs and ensuring maximum operational efficiency.
The mass production of the 472Ah battery marks a significant milestone in Cornex's strategy, which focuses on large-capacity, high-density battery technologies. The company is already preparing for the next-generation 500Ah+ and 600Ah+ ultra-large capacity batteries to meet the growing demand for energy storage solutions in large-scale global projects, driven by the pursuit of maximum energy density and cost-effectiveness.
The combination of high-voltage platform adaptability, AI-driven smart operations, and large-capacity products outlines Cornex's clear blueprint for leading future energy storage developments.
Cornex's extensive showcase of full-scenario energy storage products is a testament to its deep commitment to technology leadership and innovation. At a pivotal point in industrial upgrading, Cornex continues to leverage energy storage solutions as a key driver of technological breakthroughs and strategic expansion. The company is dedicated to helping partners tackle complex energy challenges and contribute to global sustainable development.
