EVE Energy Launches 60GWh Super Energy Storage Plant and Begins Mass Production of "Mr. Big" 600Ah+ Battery Cells

Eve Energy's 60GWh Super Energy Storage Plant Phase I & Mr. Big

On December 10th, EVE Energy successfully launched Phase I of its 60GWh Super Energy Storage Plant and began mass production of its groundbreaking "Mr. Big" 600Ah+ large-capacity battery cells. This new plant is now the largest single energy storage facility in the industry, while "Mr. Big" marks the first mass-produced 600Ah+ battery cell.

Innovative technology to support large-capacity cell launch and mass production

In 2022, as the market was still focused on 280Ah battery cells, EVE Energy anticipated the shift toward larger capacities and introduced the 560Ah cell. Building on this vision, EVE Energy has since pushed the boundaries of battery technology, developing a 628Ah cell. With the official release and mass production of "Mr. Big" in December, the company has transformed innovative concepts into practical, scalable solutions. These larger-capacity cells provide numerous benefits, including lower costs, simplified integration, improved energy density, and enhanced safety. They also reduce the number of components needed in the battery pack assembly, which cuts down on complexity and further lowers costs. However, scaling up battery capacity also presents challenges, particularly in managing thermal efficiency and maintaining overall performance.

To address these issues, EVE Energy collaborated with Professor Yang Hanxi from Wuhan University to develop an advanced electrochemical collection model based on sound electrochemical principles. Inspired by automotive engineering’s “low drag” designs, the company optimized various components of the battery, such as the thickness of the collection medium, tab placement, and terminal shapes and sizes. This continuous innovation in design reduces internal resistance, minimizing heat buildup and improving overall battery efficiency.

In addition to enhancing performance, EVE Energy also focused on safety by introducing intelligent battery cell technology. This system uses high-precision sensors to monitor key parameters such as gases, temperatures, and other critical signals in real time throughout the battery's lifecycle. This approach is similar to how smartwatches monitor health metrics like heart rate and oxygen levels. With its powerful database matching and advanced signal processing capabilities, the system can detect anomalies and trigger timely warnings and preventive actions. This technology ensures that the battery cells remain safe and reliable, marking a significant advancement in the industry’s approach to energy storage safety.

60GWh super energy storage plant to achieve mass production

To support the mass production of "Mr. Big" cells, EVE Energy invested in the creation of a world-class 60GWh Super Energy Storage Plant. The plant integrates cutting-edge technologies such as digital twin technology, which powers a fully automated, digitized, and low-carbon manufacturing process. EVE Energy’s commitment to innovation is reflected in its use of over 80 advanced industry technologies and 140 patents related to key equipment and products. The plant’s production line is capable of manufacturing an impressive 1.5 battery cells per second, assembling four complete battery packs every minute, and producing over 40 containers of 5MWh energy storage products daily.

The strategic location of the Jingmen facility also plays a key role in optimizing the supply chain, enabling efficient collaboration between upstream and downstream partners. This integration reduces logistics and warehousing costs and accelerates production and delivery. The factory’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and high efficiency allow EVE Energy to meet growing market demands while maintaining flexibility in scaling operations.

Quality management is another area where EVE Energy excels. The factory’s defect rate is at an industry-leading level, reaching Parts Per Billion (PPB). EVE Energy has established a rigorous manufacturing standard system, focusing on everything from macro-level cleanliness to micro-level control of dust particles as small as 0.5μm. This level of precision ensures the highest possible product quality. Furthermore, the plant employs advanced AI technologies such as BP neural networks, knowledge graphs, and autonomous tuning to ensure continuous improvement in quality management. Every product is equipped with a "data package" and "battery passport," allowing for full lifecycle traceability and digital monitoring of its performance and safety.

The 60GWh Super Energy Storage Plant is currently the largest single energy storage factory in the world, with a single production line capable of outputting over 15GWh. With this plant now operational and "Mr. Big" battery cells in full production, EVE Energy is accelerating its global expansion and meeting the growing demand for large-capacity energy storage solutions.

As the first company in the industry to mass-produce 600Ah+ large-capacity battery cells, EVE Energy is setting the stage for future advancements in energy storage. The company’s forward-thinking approach and commitment to innovation are making a significant impact on the global energy transition, driving progress toward a more sustainable and efficient energy future.
