Zhiguang & HiTHIUM Launch Industry-Leading ZGEner-Plus 3.0 BESS with Breakthrough 587Ah Battery Technology

Zhiguang Energy Storage and HiTHIUM jointly unveiled the ZGEner-Plus 3.0, a third-generation high-voltage cascaded high-capacity BESS, at China's 5th National New Energy Storage Conference on July 25. Powered by HiTHIUM's ∞Cell 587Ah battery, this marks the world's first full deployment of high-capacity battery tech from announcement to application.

The ZGEner-Plus 3.0 system delivers high voltage, large single-unit capacity (100MW/200MWh), and simplified architecture. It enables direct 6–35kV grid connection without transformers, achieves >92% efficiency, reduces energy loss, and lowers construction costs. Its millisecond response and grid-forming capabilities provide robust network support.

This launch pioneers the integration of 587Ah batteries in high-voltage cascaded topology. Compared to standard 314Ah solutions:

1. 46% fewer cells/modules reduce failure points

2. Shorter current paths decrease energy loss

3. Cabinet volume shrinks 20-30%

4. Enhanced BMS monitoring improves reliability

HiTHIUM's Dr. Kongyao Chen presented "Optimized Design and Application Value of ∞Cell 587Ah", detailing the strategic R&D behind the cells. HiTHIUM's high-capacity journey began in 2022, leading to 1175Ah cells for 4+ hour storage and the newly optimized 587Ah variant for 2-hour applications. The 587Ah shares its platform with the 1175Ah, balancing safety, performance and cost.

This collaboration delivers the first commercially viable high-capacity storage system, offering space-efficient, safe grid support. HiTHIUM commits to advancing industry standards through open partnerships and technological innovation.
